• Named the Texas Sports Writer’s Association 3A Defensive Player of the Year.
• Voted the Associated Press 3A Defensive Most Valuable Player.
• Elected the District 29-3A Defensive Most Valuable Player.
• Member of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas High School Team (2nd Team LB).
• As a senior, Buckley posted 147 tackles including 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks while forcing 10 fumbles and recovering six more.
• As a junior, he recorded 125 tackles including five sacks while forcing seven fumbles, recovering four more and intercepting a pair of passes.
